Introduction of BIRS

Badin College of Pharmacy is the first institution going to start a Pharm-D degree program in Badin city. It is located at the Kashan Badin Road. The campus building comprises of more than 218000 sq. ft of covered area, which has a purpose-built interior with necessary facilities and infra-structure consistent with academic requirements.
Pharm.D is the first such program being offered which will help to fulfill the urgent demand for more trained graduate pharmacists not only for Badin city but also for the whole Pakistan.
Pharmacy is a science-based health profession concerned with medicines and their proper use in patients in the treatment and prevention of disease. The aim of pharmacy education at Badin College of Pharmacy is to educate and train healthcare professionals. The foremost objective of BCP is to impart education of the highest quality in the healthcare discipline, besides the character building of the upcoming health care providers. The individuals are groomed to have a sense of responsibility and dedication for the welfare of the ailing humanity.
The Pharm.D program takes an integrated approach to learn across the curriculum. The courses include the sources and design of drugs, the formulation of different dosage forms, the action of these drugs on the body and the therapeutic management of medicines in patients during a number of specially designed integrated modules. The courses include in the Pharm.D program will enhance the knowledge and skills to the next level. The study programs and courses have been designed to fulfill the current needs with regard to professionalism, marketability, employability, and entrepreneurship.
Our objective is to provide the highest quality teaching and learning and undertake research that is relevant to patients and health care practice, and development of the society as a whole. In our innovative Pharm.D program, we integrate the pharmaceutical with clinical therapeutics and patient care to meet the needs of the next generation of pharmacists in all sectors – community, primary care, hospital, industry, regulatory and academia.

Message of Pharmacy Principal

Education plays a significant role in determining the character of each person. A well-educated person accomplishes all responsibilities associated to him very well. Education is the only matter that has the power to bring people together. Pharmacy education is an essential part of health care system. Pharmacy education stance for expertise on the development of dosage form, distribution of drugs as well as therapeutic monitoring of drugs. The pharmacy profession is enduring a rapid change.
Badin College of Pharmacy (BCP) stances away from other pharmacy institutes on various counts. It is one of the best colleges of its type that provides pharmacy education with in-depth focus on theoretical curriculum along with practical knowledge, communication skills and the development of personality. BCP also focuses in extra-curricular activities, development of student’s personality and all other perspectives. Everything that makes a good institution are – a highly trained faculty, rich library, placement division, teaching methods, liberty to think and express themselves – we have it here

Admission & Eligibility Criteria

Admissions shall be made on the basis of merit in accordance with the criteria laid down by the Admission Committee from time to time, provided further that; The Chairperson/Principal/Head of the Department shall, each year, communicate for approval to the Admission Committee through the Dean, prior to admissions, and the total number of students to be admitted.

  • Additional criteria for weightage in admission against merit seats will be applicable.
  • Any student, who was rusticated, expelled, or whose entry in Department will be banned for any reason whatsoever at any time during his/her academic career, shall not be readmitted to any class without the permission of the DEAN on the recommendations of the Chairperson/Principal and Director Student Affairs.
  • All difficulties connected with admission shall be resolved by the Admission Committee in consultation with Chairperson/ Principals and shall deem to be settled with the approval of the Dean later on.
  • Age limit for students seeking admissions after passing Intermediate or equivalent examination will be twenty-three (23) years. In case of real hardship, however, the Dean on the recommendations of the Chairperson/ Principals, may relax this Regulation subject to the availability of vacant seat, after all available eligible candidates have been offered admission, up to a maximum of one year. Letter to seek approval from registrar office of affiliated University is mandatory.
  • All the admitted students are directed to submit one copy of fee deposit slip/challan in the office of the college for issuance of the roll number slips.
  • Inter-Colleges migration will be allowed on the recommendations of the Chairperson/Principal/Director concerned, with the written approval of the Dean, provided that, the student concerned would have been offered admission, on merit basis in any other University/College/Institute to which he/she wishes to migrate. The maximum time period, during which such a migration may take place, shall be 02 weeks from the commencement of the teaching session. The migration will be allowed only in genuine cases. In case of any other university, whose examination/ curriculum is different from BCP, student has to apply in University to seek certificate of equivalence to qualify for admission in any other University.
  • Equivalence Certificate of O&A Levels / Intermediate Certificate from foreign institutes, issued by the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) shall be provided by the applicant. Provisional Admission can be granted to the student subject to provision of said equivalence certificate from the IBCC before conducting 1st Year (Under Annual System) examination of the degree program for which admission is granted. (HEC Letter No. 5-3/HEC/A&A/2015/78 dated June 24, 2015)
  • A candidate whose candidature has been accepted will be required to produce the original documents for issuance of fee challan. The documents shall be retained by the department till final year of the Degree Program.
  • As some of the transcripts provided by the students do not contain the detailed marks/percentage of marks so it becomes impossible to calculate merit on the basis of CGPA/ percentage only. As it is the responsibility of students to provide the detailed marks sheet so they should be asked to provide the detailed marks sheet to the department before the last date for submission of forms. If they fail to provide the marks sheet, they will not be considered eligible for admission as merit cannot be calculated on the basis of CGPA/ percentage only.
  • All admissions made in contravention of these Regulations shall be void.

Eligibility Criteria

  • FSC(Pre-Medical) with minimum 60% marks or any equivalent examination.
  • MCAT/NAT with minimum passing marks.
  • BCP offering Merit based Scholarships and Special discount for needy students.

Only those candidates who fulfill above mentioned criteria, will be eligible for securing admission in BCP.
